Katherine Ratliff - DVM
Dr. Ratliff was born and raised in Bakersfield. She went to Edison School and graduated from Foothill High School in 1970. She went on to Cal State Bakersfield and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 1974. From there she went to UC Davis from which she graduated in 1978 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
She came home and has been at Animal Emergency and Urgent Care ever since. She began as an associate in 1978 and purchased it in 1983. Dr. Ratliff is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, KCVMA and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Her goal is to provide quality emergency, urgent and critical care to the pets that are presented to the hospital.
In her spare time Dr. Ratliff likes to cook, hike, ride horses, read and snow ski. She has three dogs, two horses, a blue and gold macaw, and a green iguana named Godzilla. She has been married to the same all around Good Guy, Mark, for 20 years and they have a 16 year old son, Carl.
