We deal with behavior issues!
The most common cases presented to a veterinary behaviorist include:
* Aggression in dogs
* House soiling in cats.
Some signs are not obvious to owners:
* Severe fears of noises, places, people or things
* Jumpiness or skittishness in any environment
* Chewing and eating of odd items
* Overgrooming that causes hair or skin damage
* Repetitive behaviors like circling or snapping at invisible bugs
Before a behavior consultation is sought, your veterinarian should perform a through physical exam and some screening laboratory tests (a complete blood count, serum chemistry profile, thyroid function evaluation and urinalysis are common.) This is because some medical problems like diabetes, Cushing’s disease and problems of the thyroid can affect and change behavior.
