Dr. Shufer graduated from the University of Gainesville, Fl with high honers. He then attended the prestegious Animal Medical Center internship in New York, NY. Subsequently, he moved to California where he worked in a multi-specialty practice for a few years until he opened his first practice in San Diego. Dr. Shufer and his family moved to Rancho Cucamonga in 1993 when he took over the Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital. Dr. Shufer has a wide range of veterinary interests including soft tissue and bone surgery, cancer treatment, skin disease, cardiology, diagnostic ultrasound, dentistry and internal medicine. Dr. Shufer, his wife Brenda and their daughter Sophia live near by in Claremont. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, racquet sports, skiing, guitar, reading and travel.
