About Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter One mile south of Michigan Avenue; 1/2 mile south of Rotunda; just south of the viaduct under I-94 on the west side of Greenfield at the intersection of Butler Road (traffic light). The Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter (the Friends or FFDAS) was formed in 1993 by a small group of people who wanted to improve the conditions for the animals at the Shelter and promote their adoption into loving homes. The Friends is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and owned animals. The Dearborn Animal Shelter is owned by the City of Dearborn and is managed by the Police Department. The mission of the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter is to provide loving care and sanctuary to animals, encourage adoptions and reunions, and promote respect, responsibility, and compassion for all animals.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30am - 5:00 pm Tuesday, Thursday: 11:00am - 7:00 pm Saturday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Sunday: Closed (except to registered volunteers)

The Dearborn Animal Shelter provides the following services: Adoptions of great pets to quality homes, Reuniting lost pets with their owners, Providing loving care for lost or unwanted animals, Cruelty investigation, Assistance to pet owners.
Products Available:
Adoption fee for kittens under 4 months is $90 and includes spay /neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, fecal test, worming, FELV test, and microchip for I.D. Optional FIV test is an additional $20. If you are adopting two kittens, the adoption fee is $45 for the second kitten. Adoption fee for cats 4 months and older is $80 and includes spay / neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, fecal test, worming, FELV test, and microchip for I.D. Adoption fee for dogs 4 months and older (does not include lap dogs) is $145 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay / neuter, fecal test, worming, heartworm test (if old enough), and microchip for I.D. Adoption fee for ‘Golden Years’ dogs (10 years +) is $100 and includes vaccines, heartworm test, fecal test, worming, spay / neuter, and microchip for I.D. Adoption fee for puppies under 4 months of age and lap dogs (under 20 lbs.) is $200 and includes spay / neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm test (if old enough), fecal test, worming, and microchip for I.D.
