I don't see many of this kind of dogs.  It's a great dog for the older person for company, surprised not to see more.  Is it the cost of the puppies?  I was looking for the right dog not the price when I found my dog.  I've had a lot of dogs in my life, from strays to full bred and this is the most for being easy to train, not to bark very much and then really at the right times.  My husband who is very hard of hearing, this is the right dog for she only barks, when he needs to answer the door bell.  I really think I will be able to train her as and hear aid dog for him.  Love to hear from other owners on this bred.

I am the owner of two Cavaliers.  A Blenheim male 13 years old and a Tri male 3 years old.  They are wonderful dogs and despite all their health problems I probably would still get another.  I adopted the 3 year old to try and stimulate more activity in my older Cavalier and sadly that did not pan out but the 3 year old was a breeze to train following the lead of his companion and even though he usually is totally ignored by the older Cavalier who is blind, he still loves him and usually can be found in close proximity.  These dogs have the best temperment and are the nicest companions I've ever come across.  I would definitely suggest finding a VERY reputable breeder, getting a health guarantee for eyes, heart, patellas and allergies and looking into pet insurance.
