try to lay down and pull when i put the leash

i have a 4 and 1/2 month old maltese that wiegh 1.9lb i think this is her first time on leash and when i put the leash on her she just froze like she stay on sit or down and try to pull or just lay down. I want to know how to break it so we can walk going to the park.. i already tried putting the leash down on her for a while but it didnt work. pls help.thanks

let her get used to it put it on her as soon as you get home from work and leave her be, she will get up and try to move then reward her.  you have to make the leash seam exciting and good for her.  As she progresses reward and it she shy's away ignor it.   "Reward Good" and "Ignor Bad"

Attach the leash to her collar and leave her to do her normal activities, unless she chews on the leash. Give her a day or two just to get over the newness of it. After that, put her on the grass and try to walk with her. If she won't walk, yank on the leash. Not a steady pulling, but yank, slack, yank. She will get tired of being yanked on and begin to walk. Toy dogs are usually hard headed and require a little extra effort. They do not have that "want to please my owner" desire that most larger breed dogs have. Be patient but firm and don't allow her to get away with not doing what you want.
