Help!!!!

Last year I got a dog from the animal shelter he’s been a great dog I named him Sammy

Well lately Sammy has started a very bad habit and he knows he is doing something wrong.  He pees where the formal dining room is and he does it where you can’t see him doing it until it’s too late.  Another thing Sammy does when he finishes he runs extremely fast to the back door to be let out and he only pees at night right after I bring him in and I’m ready to put him to bed for the night.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get him to stop peeing in the house?

I already took Sammy to the vet he doesn’t have any bladder infections that might cause it and my vet could not explain why he does it.  I’ve taken him to a trainer the trainers suggestion was to walk him right before he goes to bed I’ve tried that and he’s still doing it.  What’s even stranger Sammy does not do it every night he will be good for three days or four days and then he does it again.

I’m hoping someone out there can suggested something for me to try

Help

Chris, sounds like you have your hands full. First off, do you crate him at night?  If not, you definitely want to start doing that.  They will not pee in their crate and will help strengthen the bladder as much as possible.

As for peeing, you might want to try what we did which was taking him out every 5 or 10 minutes and saying  pee pee, pee pee.. when he finally does go he will associate the word pee pee with peeing, and then also being outside.  It is time consuming but in the end, it will alleviate a lot of stress on you for years to come, not to mention carpet and floors.

 Keep us posted.
