I have a yorkie/malties mix that when ever I walk him he continues to pull, I have tried a halter and a regular neck collor.  When I have him on the gentle guide he does real good, but keeps trying to get it off is nose.  I do not like walking him all the time on the gentle guide

Are you giving him slack in his leash or do you give him just enough leash so that he is right besides you.   Try shortening his leash and actually keep him behind your stride by one step.  If you don't, he will believe that he gets to walk you.  Let him know that you are leading the walk and it is not the other way around.  It will take a few walks, if not a week or so for him to get the point, but it will allow you to control the walk.  Let us know how it works.

I know just what you mean.  I have a 8 month old Brittany that does the same thing,  I have tried pulling back on her leash, but she is so strong that I don't stand a chance. I have tried the trick of just stopping until she comes back to see why I am not moving, but she just takes that opportunity to check out things around her, she could care less that I am not moving!  Not sure what to do with a dog that is so strong, anyone got any suggestions?
