Health Insurance For Dogs

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with health insurance for their pets and if so which one you recommend. I have a Maltese and we recently had a health scare that was going to cost us thousands of dollars and heatlh insurance was recommended. There are so many companies out there that I need some advice. Thank you.

This is coming late, but have you tried petfirst insurance. I think they are very good and very helpful.
