HI All, It alarms me that to this point we have no idea what to do about our pets that have been eating the "bad food". I for one am appalled that it was not addressed before the news started reporting how much money the company was going to loose. I am angry that this or any other company could do this without any legal recourse, the law will protect any animal from being mistreated, where does the law stand on this? How many of us has lost a dear loved one or had to take them to the vet several times in the past month. If I had lost my precious or muffin I would be as heart broken as if it were one of me kids. Yes I have a new addition scotty, he's elderly and we almost lost him shortly after we go him about a month ago. I have to wonder if his suffering was not worsened by the fact that I may have poisoned him. PMS mommy

I myself am a bit digusted with the whole recall. First my mom calls me to tell me three weeks prior that her cat dies, and the vet said her kidneys shut down, I felt so bad for my mom. Then, about one week later my brothers girlfriend called and said to call my brother he was upset because his favorite cat had died that weekend, again the vet said the kidneys had shut down. We thought it was alittle wierd, that two cats in one family would die within a week of each toher, But we just went on. Then My brothers girlfriend called me and said turn on the news, and there it was the recall. I could not believe what we were seeing. My family loves their animals, and we treat them like our children, no different, to us they are not pets. It just saddens me that a company who makes so much money on pet foods, can not have the same feelings on our family additions as we do, I mean there whole financial future depends on these animals. I cannot believe that they could make such a mistake. JILL

When you buy a commercial dog food make sure you know what it contains . The first item should be meat. The 1st listed ingredient is the primary item in the food. Dog food companies play tricks with splits so that a percentage of less desireable items appear lower down on the label as it is divided by multiple names. When the bag has a list of byproducts and names of items you don't recognize, stay away. Cheap dog food is as good as garbage Dog food sold in large box stores and discount chains are loaded with fillers, junk and toxins such as cereal, downed, dead, dying and diseased animals, euthanized dogs and cats, blood, feathers, undeveloped eggs, any industrial waste that can be disguised as food. AAFCO sets the standards with almost no regulatory power and the FDA doesn't have the manpower or resources to keep real tabs on this. If you buy dog food, go to local indep. pet shops and buy holiistic, human grade dog food with no preservatives and additives. Another option is homemade dog food More details at http://www.dogs-4life.com/dog-food-that-kills.html Hope this helps a little MRB thepressinfoATyahoo
