Sorry, I'm from Massachusetts and therefore can't help you where you live.  I can share a story however.  The previous dog that I had developed cataracts around ther age of 7.  At the time I was taking her to a homeopathic vet because of her arthritis.  He put her on various remedies which ended up also helping her eyes.  Is there a homeopathic vet in your area?  Might be something to check out.  In the meantime, when dealing with your dog, remember that peripheral vision is the best.  That is the dog will see better from the sides rahter than face on.  Good luck.
