Ok here goes, My Hubby and I have 28 chickens. I take care of them through the week and he does on the weekend. I find them to be all different and especially by breed. Our Production Reds are like our Poms. They are pets and know it and seek human companionship and petting and expect to get it. Our Pearl white leghorns that were raised exactly the same way are not people friendly unless you have snacks in your hand. The Buff Orpingtons are more like the Production reds. I also have a few RIR's that are friendly but not as much as the Production reds. (I am prejudiced towards these!) I also have a Rooster-Roo who is RIR and along with the 2 Coo Coo Marans and 2 Barred Rocks I plan to breed red and black sex linked and see about a few Golden Comets along the way. Now they may have other plans I have not been told about yet. They do a wonderful job of providing us with eggs. Oh and we also have 3 Roan Ducks and 2 Pomeranian geese.
